Prof. Weizhao Zhang
Prof Weizhao Zhang received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tsinghua University in 2014 and his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Northwestern University in 2019. He joined CUHK afterwards with research focus on development of advanced manufacturing processes for high-performance composite parts using both experimental and numerical modeling approaches.
Dr. Jian-Chao Zou
Dr. Jian-Chao Zou obtained his Ph.D. degree in Solid Mechanics from Dalian University of Technology in 2021. Dr. Zou has received well training in the field of composite material mechanics, computational mechanics, and experimental mechanics during his study periods of master and PhD. To be specific, he is experienced with deep learning, numerical modeling and simulation, and structural health monitoring.
Having obtained bachelor's degree from North China Electric Power University (2015) and M.Sc degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (2018), Mr. Yuncong FENG joined Advanced Manufacturing Composites Lab in Fall 2020, mainly focusing on multi-scale simulation using finite element method and experimental characterization on thermomechanical behavior of carbon fiber reinforced polymer in curing.
Zhibin Han received his B.S. degree and M.S. degree from Xiamen University. His former research involved in sensor development, engine fault diagnosis and structure simulation. He is a PhD student now.
Before joining Advanced Manufacturing Composites Lab in 2021, Wanrui obtained his bachelor's degree in Engineering Mechanics from Zhengzhou University and master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University (Evanston).
Chongrui TANG received his BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology in 2020 and his MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering Design at The University of Manchester in 2021. He will join Advanced Manufacturing Composites Lab as a PhD student in 2021.
Deyong obtained his bachelor’s degree from the China University of Petroleum-Beijing, and master’s degree from the Beijing Institute of Technology. His previous research focused on Isogeometric analysis, Shape optimization, and Viscoelastic analysis for composite materials. He joined the Advanced Manufacturing Composites Lab in the Fall of 2022. His current research focuses on the compaction simulation of composite materials during thermoforming.
Meiyu LIU obtained her B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering & Automation from South China University of Technology in 2015 and M.S. degree from The University of Hong Kong in 2016.
Meiyu joined Advanced Manufacturing Composites Lab in September 2021.

WEIKE ZHENG received his B.S. degree in mechanical design, manufacturing and automation from Shandong University in 2019 and obtained his MSc degree from The University of Hong Kong in 2020. His works mainly focused on composite friction and preforming research.
Dr M.Erfan Kazemi
Current research fellow at Imperial College London
Dr Erfan Kazemi obtained his Master of Science in Aero-Structural Engineering from Sharif University of Technology (2016), and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. When at CUHK, Dr Kazemi conducted multiple projects in the field of degradation performance of composite materials for renewable energy sectors.
Zhenhan Wang received his B.S. degree in aerospace engineering from University of Sydney in 2020. He joined Advanced Manufacturing Composites Lab in 2021.

RUI, Li received his B.S. degree in aircraft manufacturing engineering from Shenyang Aerospace University in 2020 and obtained his MSC degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2021. Now he is a MPhil student.
Dr. Yi-Feng Xiong

Northwestern Polytechnical University
Dr. Yi-Feng Xiong obtained his Ph.D. degree in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering from Northwestern Polytechnical University in 2019. Prior to joining the Chinese University of Hong Kong postdoctoral researcher in 2021, he works as a Post-Doc in Northwestern Polytechnical University. Up to now, Dr. Xiong has conducted multiple projects in the field of high precision machining of difficult-to-cut materials with advanced manufacturing methods.
